“Trust God to help you find your calling. Stay inspired, stay creative, and never feel you're not good….”

Coming from the City of Panama City, we have 7even Scott. Current Graphic Designer student of S.C.A.D, Tattooist, and Future CEO of ManiaK Designs LLC. Here’s what he has to say.

Name:

7even Scott the ManiaK boy (7even Scott)

Where are you from:

Panama City, Florida

What do you do:

I am a tattoo artist at Emotionz Tattoos and a freelance graphic designer/student at Savannah College of Art and Design

When did you find out that this is what you wanted to do?:

In college when a friend, Briana Almeida, suggested we get apprenticeships, I got one at Emotionz Tattoos and fell in love after doing my first successful tattoo then seeing other tattoos on skin and seeing what an artist could grow in to

What art do you most identify with?:

Neo-Traditional or Japanese influenced artoworks...i also love Antiquity (ancient Greco-Roman works)

Who are/is your major influence(s):

What inspired you to do what you do? Wendy Pham, Horiyoshi III and artists from the Ukiyo-e period, Miya Bailey, Emily Rose Murray, Brandon Bond, Dave Tevenal, David Morris, Dave Tedder, Mike McMahon and a few others. I am inspired by art period...Leonardo Da Vinci felt that man should pull inspiration from nature because it is perfect..I've lived by this rule long before i knew who Da Vinci was...but i love these artists' work on skin because they are artists...not just people who tattoo...they translate art work from canvas to skin with ease and their styles are amazing...Google them all :)

How Long have you been doing what you do?:

I've been an artist since i was 3 or 4 but I've been Tattooing for 8 months 9 months on Aug. 7th (im a young buck still a lil wet behind the ears)

What’s your favorite art work?:

That I have done, i would say the Japanese tribute piece I have for now, my favorite work by any other artist.....Michelangelo's "Sistine Chapel ceiling" painting and his "David", and "Laocoon and His Sons" sculpture or any work from Da Vinci, Michelango, or Raphael pretty much any Japanese old style print and the flash art of Wendy Pham and Dave Tevenal and Emily Rose Murray

What is your dream project?:

I would love to do a full back piece and maybe even collaborate with an artist that I admire on a large piece...it would blow my mind

What is an artistic outlook on life?:

I don't know...artist's don't have like "super art vision" we see the world through human eyes like anyone else....only difference is...we notice what non artists overlook, we see the beauty and the pain in every nook and cranny of life...well stare at a crack in a wall with a plant growing from it and see some sort of expression of freedom or how nature fights the oppression of man...lmao nah we're just artsy we love to create...even if it means creating the life we live b/c the one we actually live may not me the best...artists are people...creative people who let their inner child live and thrive and he became their artistic genius inner child lol

What do you think has to be the biggest challenge for undiscovered artists?:

Its like the rap game, when people don't know who you are they don't give a damn about what you do unless they're friends or family...and even then getting support from them can be a struggle...so I'd say the biggest challenge is just getting love...getting support and help...I'm honored that so many have decided to come to me for artwork and God willing I'll only get better and better and even more people will want my artwork on them forever :) all tattoo artists seek to be internationally known and desired....it makes us immortal

Any advice you could give people trying to make it?:

Trust God to help you find your calling. Stay inspired, stay creative, and never feel you're not good because you spend all of your time comparing yourself artists that have much more time invested than you do...everyone started somewhere...i still struggle with being my worst critic and i hate 9/10 of my works but you cant let it stop you. You cant get stagnant no matter what you do artistic or not don't get stuck...DONT PLATEAU...keep climbing...even if God himself came from heaven and said "hey you're the best stop" don't stop fight to stay the best because someone will always be coming for your head....someone will become better if they arent already...be the best...but start by believing you are the best and stay humble OR BE HUMBLED....nigga

Tell us a little about yourself.:

Idk i love to play around on guitar, paint, draw, do compute design work stuff, create, love, laugh and make ppl laugh (i be good et det shih doe) I am an artist and future CEO of ManiaK Designs LLC...i wanna own a huge amount of businesses...that I would love to give away to homeless men to run (provided they have the mindset to operate my shiznit) i used to sing, dance, act, pretty much i love art in all forms

Where can we find your Other work by you? (I.e. website, YouTube channel):

Final thoughts.:

Much love yo....just do and do and do..live...love God...thank him for every breath...stay humble stay grateful and create....don’t be an ignant nigga...show the world you’re educated and you can be more than a rapper, sports player, hustler, thug....be something your family would cry about everyday....if they think you’re a screw-up so what! do something...shock them by becoming great and rub it in the face of everyone who doubted you...but tell them God did it for you...that's the biggest fuck you anyone could give...success in the face of doubt.
